A long iron or hybrid off the tee to leave a short iron into the green. Accuracy with the tee shot is key.

The second is not a long hole but is very narrow tee to green

A good drive is needed to put the green in range of your second. Fairway bunkers lie right and left to catch a slightly off-centre drive

An elevated, well guarded, green means you need to fly this at the pin. Can play anything from a 7 iron to a hybrid but a good mid-iron for most

Very narrow start to the drive when teeing off the back but the green is still reachable for most with a hybrid and iron

Tricky to get close to white flag set on the right of the green due to a large bunker taking anything a little short and a bank of vey long rough if you roll through

Start out right with a bit of draw is the best shaped shot off this tee. Big array of bunkers out right can really penalise a long drive

Hole eight is the shortest par 3 on the course with a lake to take any topped shots. Hit a mid-iron to a green guarded by a drop-away to left and bunkers to the right

Grip n rip a driver off the tee but give it some draw to avoid the bunkers at the top of the fairway. Keep your second high and right as the left hand green side bunker has a tractor beam!

Its a long drive to the fairway bunkers!

A long fly to the green if you are trying to hit it in two

The twelfth is the longest and most difficult of the six par 3s at well over 200 yards

The thirteenth is a dogleg from left to right. Two perfectly placed bunkers on the left threaten the drives of the long hitters

The fourteenth is perhaps the most picturesque of the par 3s. An elevated green is guarded by bunkers to the front, left and right

The fifteenth is a dogleg right to left from an elevated tee. There are fairway bunkers on both sides

The sixteenth is that very rare thing, a par 3 with no bunkers at all, the tee shot is down a narrow avenue of trees

The seventeenth, for many, is Richmond’s signature hole. It's a right angled dogleg from left to right and the landing zone for tee shots is heavily bunkered

The final tee affords a view of the clubhouse, but not much sight of the fairway, you have a blind drive over the ridge
