The jewel in the crown of Sudbrook House is the magnificent baroque Cube Room. As its name suggests, the proportions of the space form a perfect cube. The ceiling is the height of the building’s two main storeys.
The room is decorated with beautiful coats of arms carved above the doorways. These are believed to allude to the Duke of Argyll’s military achievements. The Campbell family arms are carved in pine in the great panel above the mirror. The ornate marble chimney piece is believed to be the work of the Flemish sculptor, John Michael Rysbrack.
The Cube Room is the Club’s principal dining and function room. It can also be hired by Members and non- members as an impressive setting for entertaining and hosting events.
